Costa Rica Travel Guide by Diamante Eco Adventure Park
Make your Costa Rica travel experience unique!
Whether you are traveling to Costa Rica with family, solo on an adventure trip, honeymoon or to explore the wonders of Costa Rica, there are always key points to a stress-free travel planning. Therefore we have taken matters into our hands to give you a short guide to making your Costa Rica travel experience unique!
Choosing your Accommodations:
One of the most important parts of your Costa Rica travel is choosing your accommodations. Costa Rica offers a variety of lodging in awesome settings that can accommodate everyone from newlyweds to extended families. You can choose from private B&B’s in the rainforest to all-inclusive hotels on the beach. If you want ultimate privacy then explore the many options available to you directly from owners. The most popular areas have everything from hostels to hotels from boutique to all inclusive and from quaint bungalows to luxury villas there is something just right for everyone.
Which Airport?
There are two international airports in Costa Rica: one is located in San Jose the capital of Costa Rica; and the other in Liberia, Guanacaste. Check to see which airport is near your destination. This can save you valuable vacation time. Travelers may choose to land in San Jose due to less expensive fares even though it may require a 4-5 hour drive to their destination. If you aren’t sure which airport is ideal for you, ask your accommodations provider, as they will have distance, directions, and preferences.
Do I rent a car?
To rent or not to rent a car it is a dilemma for a lot of Costa Rica travelers. Costa Rica is super safe and a fun country to explore. For those that wish to experience the many adventure activities having a car is the only way to go. If your goal is to hunker down by the pool and relax then maybe a shuttle or private transportation is the most effective way to remain stress-free and let someone else handle the navigation. Many of the popular beach towns have everything you need within walking distance and offer the option of renting bikes or golf carts.
What to pack
Although Costa Rica has many microclimates, packing is always going to be similar no matter the area you are going to visit. For your Costa Rica travel, it is always recommended to bring a light sweater or jacket. The beaches tend to be warmer than the mountains and nights can become cool with a breeze. Costa Rica is casual and adventurous so bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops are seen just about everywhere. Resort casual would be considered on the dressy side if you are hanging out in the local towns and restaurants enjoying dinner, drinks, and dancing. Bring or buy mosquito repellent and sunscreen. Because Costa Rica is located at 11 degrees north of the equator, you will certainly feel the sun.
Always carry a bathing suit – even if you are not going to the beach you never know when it might come in handy. There are waterfalls, beaches or maybe even a restaurant pool that might entice you for a dip. Never pass up the opportunity to get wet. Pack a pair of sandals, tennis shoes and water shoes. But most important of all: don’t forget your passport!
Travel regulations
Be sure to check travel regulations before your Costa Rica travel date. Some countries require an entry visa, specific vaccination and allow a certain maximum number of days in the country.
